New Zealand Paid Hospitality Internship Program
Gain six months of paid professional experience in New Zealand within hotels and hospitality establishments. This programme is for students who want to build practical international experience in an English-speaking environment.

Candidate profile
- Currently enrolled in a study or professional training programme directly related to the internship.
- Studying hospitality, food service, tourism, culinary arts or a related field.
- Fluent English.
- Serious, independent and motivated.
- Able to commit to the full six-month programme.
The candidate’s course of study must be directly related to the internship duties. Candidates not enrolled in a relevant programme are not eligible.
Salary and working conditions
- New Zealand legal minimum wage: NZD 23.95 per hour.
- Some establishments may offer a higher hourly rate.
- Guaranteed minimum: 30 hours per week.
- Most participants work approximately 40 hours per week.
For reference: NZD 718.50 gross per week at 30 hours, or NZD 958 gross per week at 40 hours. Actual earnings depend on hours worked, the host establishment and the employment agreement.
Settlement support in New Zealand
Once the visa is approved, a dedicated local team supports arrival and settlement. The service includes accommodation-search assistance, guidance on flight dates, airport pickup, two nights in Auckland, an orientation session, assistance opening a New Zealand bank account and obtaining a tax number, a SIM card, travel arrangements to the internship destination and ongoing support throughout the programme.
Programme fees
- New Zealand programme fee: NZD 5,450 for placement, settlement services and local support.
- PIC Management fee: USD 1,000 for candidate management, selection and support.
- Immigration New Zealand visa fee: depends on nationality; for other nationalities, up to NZD 1,455 under the conditions applicable at the time of application.
The final programme cost for Mexican nationals will be adjusted to reflect the reduced Immigration New Zealand visa fee.
