Barcelona and Madrid are two of Spain's most compelling hotel internship destinations — complementary cities with distinct tourism profiles and world-class hotel networks. PIC Management has been placing trainees in 3★ to 5★ hotels in both cities for over 20 years, working exclusively with partners who accept 2-month placements and provide proper supervision.
Barcelona: hotel internship in the Mediterranean tourism capital
Barcelona attracts over 10 million tourists annually, making it one of Europe's most visited cities. Its hotel landscape ranges from large international chains along the seafront to boutique hotels in the Gothic Quarter and Eixample — offering trainees an incredibly varied professional environment.
Why Barcelona for your internship?
- Exceptional international clientele: British, American, German, Italian, Japanese guests — Barcelona immerses you in cultural diversity from day one.
- Catalan gastronomy: An F&B placement in Barcelona means exposure to one of the world's most creative and respected culinary scenes.
- Vibrant student life: The city's energy makes adaptation easier and the experience memorable.
- Languages: Spanish (and sometimes Catalan) are the main working languages, with English widely used in upscale establishments.
Madrid: hotel internship in the Spanish capital
Madrid is Spain's economic and cultural capital — and its hotel sector reflects that status. Far from being just a business destination, Madrid welcomes millions of leisure visitors every year, with a diverse hotel offer spanning historic palaces, major international chains and design boutique hotels.
Why Madrid for your internship?
- Business tourism and MICE: Madrid ranks among Europe's top congress and events destinations — hotel teams handle large-scale international events daily.
- Prestige hospitality: Madrid's grand palace hotels (5-star Gran Lujo category) represent the pinnacle of Spanish service excellence.
- Gastronomy: Madrid's culinary scene is thriving, with numerous Michelin-starred restaurants integrated into partner hotels.
- Year-round activity: Unlike coastal resorts, Madrid operates 12 months a year — making it an excellent option for November to March placements.
