Hotel internship in the Balearic Islands: Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca – Guide for hospitality students

The Balearic Islands are one of Europe's most sought-after hotel internship destinations. Guaranteed sunshine, quality hotels, international clientele and often-included accommodation — a rare combination that makes them ideal for tourism and hospitality students.

PIC Management has been placing interns in partner hotels across the Balearics for over 20 years. Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca offer a 3★ to 5★ hotel network perfectly suited to 2-month internships.

Why choose the Balearic Islands for a hotel internship?

  • Long season: From April to October, hotel activity is intense — hotels need qualified, motivated interns.
  • Accommodation often included: Many of our partner hotels offer on-site or nearby housing — a decisive budget advantage for students.
  • International clientele: British, German, Scandinavian, French — daily multilingual exposure.
  • Resort hospitality experience: The Balearics have numerous all-inclusive 4★ and 5★ resorts — a highly specific and valued professional experience.
  • Erasmus+ eligible: Spain is an Erasmus+ country — students can apply for a mobility grant.

Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca: what are the differences?

Each Balearic island has its own hotel identity. The right island depends on the student's profile and the type of experience they're seeking.

  • Mallorca: The largest island, with the widest variety of hotels — seaside resorts, boutique hotels, 5★ properties in historic villages. Suitable for all profiles.
  • Ibiza: Known for its nightlife, but also for high-end boutique hotels and resorts. Intense experience, demanding clientele.
  • Menorca: Quieter, more focused on eco-tourism and family tourism. Charming hotels, relaxed atmosphere — ideal for students who prefer a calmer environment.
