Malta is one of Europe’s most unique hotel internship destinations: a Mediterranean island that is 100% English-speaking, a full EU member state, and active as a tourist destination year-round. For hospitality and tourism students looking to combine professional immersion with genuine English-language practice inside the EU, Malta is an outstanding choice. PIC Management has been placing trainees in quality Maltese hotels for over 20 years.

Why Malta is an exceptional hotel internship destination

The only Erasmus+ destination that is 100% English-speaking

Malta has been an EU member since 2004, making all internships on the island eligible for Erasmus+ mobility grants. It is the only Erasmus+ destination where English is an official language — a decisive advantage for students who want to develop their professional English while benefiting from EU funding.

Year-round hotel activity

Thanks to its mild Mediterranean climate and diverse tourism appeal (UNESCO heritage sites, diving, cultural events, film industry), Malta maintains steady hotel activity even in low season. November-to-March placements are entirely feasible.

A varied and high-quality hotel network

The island offers a diverse range of hotels: charming boutique properties in historic towns (Valletta, Mdina) alongside larger beach resort complexes in Sliema, St Julian’s and Mellieħa. Our partner hotels provide structured working conditions and genuine professional development.
